Try Motionoffroad.com.(If they dont have they will definately have suggestions on where to find.) Also if you are in Ft. Wayne (did not look) Try Fort Wayne Clutch, it is on 2424 Goshen Rd. If out of town, come in on I69 and take the 109 exit south. If coming in on 30 or 33 it runs right into Goshen Road. (260)484-8505. Also Driveshafts to make are usually not as expensive as you might think, I am sure it depends on where you go though. The place above carries stuff in stock. I have used them a few times and they always had what I needed. Also try junkyards, if you pull they are usually cheaper too. Usually only 4 bolts to get it out.

I don't think that HUNT is in Ft. Wayne, but I am going to post this up for everyone in the area's information.

Ft. Wayne clutch is a good place to go.  They do good work and this is not slaming them.  I have had done work done on 2 seperate DS's and have gone to Ft. Wayne Clutch to get a price, and then have gone to Ft. Wayne Drive Train.  Both times Ft. Wayne Drive Train was almost half the price of Ft. Wayne Clutch.  The second time Drive Train even up-graded the DS to beefier one just to get it done by the next day.  They didn't charge me extra or anything.  Just said that they told me it would be done so they made sure that it was !!! Great customer service to.

Here is their info.

Good to know. Someone reccomended the Ft. Wayne Clutch and at the time I first used them I had nowhere else to turn. Needed a Yoke for an 84 5.0L Mustang. Good to know there is another spot to look if needed again. Thanks Andy

Rear DS length is directly related to what motor/tranny combo you have as well as what rear axle your XJ came with from the factory. If your going with a replacement (non cv-style) it's VERY important you get a replacement d-shaft that is the exact same length as your original.

What's wrong with the one you have? Is it a yoke or is it the shaft itself? Most quality shops can cut off your old yokes and re-use them on a new shaft (it's often cheaper to). Going rate around here is less than $100 to have that done. If it's a yoke that an easy DIY job that can be done with a few basic hand tools....

Stay away from TW's... I've broke 2 of them and his "lifetime" waranty isn't quite what he says it is...

I've been running JE Reel D-shaft and am a VERY happy customer....

confuse Tom Woods has no lifetime warranty.  The following is from his website,

Products purchased from Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts Inc. are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship, for a period of 180 days from the date of purchase.

So unless the welds broke, after 6 months it's your baby.  He has a warranty on his Gold U-joints that is for the "life" of the joint.  Whatever THAT is.  He will warranty the part of the DS that is broken IF his u-joint fails.

His stuff used to have a warranty; I've got the paperwork to prove it...

He must of gotten tired of dealing with people like me and decided that the quality of his stuff just isn't up to par...

Ok enough of the TW talk, if your happy with yours thats all the matters. I'll continue to take my business to JE Reel....

I was mainly curious about the warranty, hence the head scratching icon. All I knew was I didn't get a lifetime warranty!

Does JE Reel have a website?

it involved me a few years back after getting my license learning the wonders of a rwd brakestand... needless to say i learned my lesson after dropping the ds twice.. anywho, it's the rear yoke, and pretty much the rear 1/3 of the shaft.. it's visibly bent, and very out of balance.. it's been okay up until now other than it eats through u joints every few months, but after the last time i changed the u joint i mustve thrown it off a little more, so it vibrates like hell now at highway speeds.. i'd have replaced it sooner, but finding one for a 2.5 with the ax5 is next to impossible..

the best i've found so far was a junkyard one for 130$ i'm gonna be giving a ds shop down in milwaukee a call after i get some measurements to see what they can do for me..

otherwise i'm still lookin if anyone can find one for cheap in a junkyard or whatever that'd be awesome.
