Sounds like it is going to be a BIG group this time! Adam called me after meeting at Gas America and there were 9 or 10 Jeeps there. Brendan, Bob and Gar will meet up with them at Haspin I guess so it will be a crowd... Sounds like some fun!!
Oh Rebecca, it was "fun" all right"! It was a slimey sticky mess.
Let's see, one broken mirror, drowned out engine, one that caught fire. I came out ok though, MANY thanks to the guy with the red YJ, and his new winch! Sorry, I'm bad with names. He winched almost everyone out at one time or another.
Well made it home safe and sound.had a blast, great wheeling with you guys and gal. i'm ready to go agian. got to use my new winch several times. and only ounce for my self. also to add to the list, the guy in the other yj broke a push rod and bent a rocker arm. the guy in the red yj......aka Derek
Thanks again Derek, you were a godsend today. I'd STILL be stuck on that damn hill without your help. I guess I should say SEVERAL of us would still be stuck!
As always it was a great time. Maybe a little muddy but then again it's Haspin so nothing new with that. It was great to see old faces as well as new....now it's off to the the quarter cas wash and a little demudding. bob
Total Damages. 1) sway bar disco bent up when i didnt secure very well 2) killed the engine in the mud pit andy and i tried - replaced air filter on the way home and just replaced the TPS, runs great again
3) caught a tree on the last run of the day, caught it on adams cb antenna mount, popped a hole in my trunk, broke my tailight.
Kelsey will put up some pictures when she gets back down to New Albany, and a video of the mud pit andy and i tried
oh yeah andy...pull the carpet and throw in some drain plugs lol

I had to spend $14 worth of quarters just to get the body, wheels and tires cleaned off. The underside is still caked.
All in all it was nice to see everyone, and had a great time. Where we going next?
The worst I came away with is a few Kentucky pinstripes. Rubbing compound should take care of them.
What's the story behind the one that caught fire? Any pics?
The guys Rubicon slid down into a rut and was sitting with the front end much lower than the rear. They were winching him out, and he was gunning it pretty good to try to get it out. Apparently it puked some tranny fluid out the dipstick and it dripped onto the exhaust manifold and caught fire. It was put out quickly and there was no damage.
I was up the hill talking to Adam and saw some smoke but I thought it was just from the tires until I saw the fire underneith the Jeep. I got a picture of it but the camera didn't catch the flames in time. Like I said, it was put out pretty fast, thank God.
