Can the ones with the pin head facing downward be driven out with a punch? I don't believe the heads are welded on are they? Wondering if I took a punch now, with door attach, be able to drive the door pins downward (out) - which would make it easier to get the torq heads off once door is off.

Not all of them have the pins in upside down on the pass side. You'll just have to look at it to verify. On my '89 both where put in from the top, on Rebecca's '93 the pass side is upside down.
Make this cut;
Than knock the peice off (this pic shows drivers door)
Make the same cut on the pass doors, but when your knock the peice out the pin may come with the peice. If so than it's in upside down. Go to the hardware store and find a bolt that is the same size. Than cut it down to length. Once it's in the top you'll just tack weld it to hold.
thanks - yeah I know for a fact the passenger one on my jeep (original door) is upside down. I was hoping to be able to drive the pin out so I could access the lower hinge bolts with the door off, but its not working in my favor.
Course still having a heck of a time getting the 3 bolts on the lower hinge off. Everytime I try to back the torq head the socket / drive whats to back off and slip. So guess I'll get to that later - I'm sick of waiting so I'm cutting the botton 3 off now.

I found on my new doors (ones to be 1/2 doors) the pins where more of a universal style. They had to end on either side, and the entire length of the pin had a cut down it. But when driving them out they came out with the cut end. Oh well full doors are off - need to get a new section that holds the three bolts - Hopefully jeep carries that part still.....

no problema - was going to show em off here anyways, but wasn't sure that we had many atvers on the site. Got em for $100 - have at least 75% tread on them still too.
