Hi, This winter (first cold my California Jeep ever felt, now being in BC, Canada) the rear washer hose developed a leak. Not sure if it's a fitting that froze and popped the hose off of or what. Does anyone know the routing path of the hose from the fluid bottle under the hood, to the rear washer arm?
Anyone with a service manual able to post a pic, if it show the routing? As of late, when the rear window washer is activated, the fluid ends up on the ground behind the left rear tire. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very kindly ACI4369. There is an amazing amount of information to be found in those PDF files! I appreciate your quick response. Now I have all sorts of bookmarks added to those PDF files for my list of things to do.
I feel that since reviewing all the great tech advice here, I am going to look more and more like the little fella in the avatar that I made for this forum.
In all fairness, I should pay my Jeep back in maintenance, for all the incredible service this vehicle has provided me. It has 180,000 miles, 21 years old, and is still running like a champ!
Who would have figured that with only fluid changes, tires, two batteries, bearings, a belt, two headlamps, and one starter, it would have come this far? Amazing, eh?
I have been lucky enough to own two new Jeeps, the other a 1985 CJ7. Both have served me well.
My XJ is a modest 2WD with the 4.0 liter engine, automatic. The only thing that is not stock on it is the larger tires I added after coming to BC. 235/75R15 with a healthy (and slightly noisy) tread.
I will be adding a more robust rack to carry my kayaks soon, followed by the previously mentioned maintenance and improvements.
I think the 2WD will suffice here for summer drives up the logging roads, having made it from NY to BC during that blizzard from the 12 - 15th of December.
One addition I do love is the Garmin GPS I was given for Christmas. I downloaded the topo maps for BC and now enjoy marking those really fun trails and logging roads.
Later this summer or early fall, I hope to fly back to California and buy yet another XJ, this time a 4WD. (Can one really have too many Jeeps?)
I will scan some pics soon as I was given one of the official Jeep "Trapper" hats so I need to get out there and pose with the Jeep before all the snow in the mountains is gone. (big grin)
