So, I am thinkin that I was a little vague with my issue. But I talked to a buddy that knows a thing or two about vehicles. I told him that I might need to bleed the brakes and he said that it is a possibility that having air in the line(s) might not allow the shoes to come off the drum all the way. I also told him that both my e brake brake cables were broken and I didn't have replacements on hand so I didn't replace it at this time. He thought that not having them might play a role.

Do you have them adjusted to tight?  Might be something to look at.

I cranked the adjuster down as far as it would go before reassembly. I meant to tear into it after work, but didn't have the time.
