A shimmy or shake

I just put on my 1 ton cross over set up a few week's ago
Everything went good.
I had it aligned. They said everything looked good.
About 55 MPH my front passanger seat shakes back & forth.
I had tire's checked, They said they are good and ballanced.
I checked everything,  All look's tight.  I'm lost on what i may have done
wrong or not done.  Some one told me to check my drive shaft's.
I can grab it and twist it some, Do i need to change all the U-Joint's then ?
Im lost. Steering wheel has no shake or vibe.
Any idea's guy's or girl's.......

Just have a friend ride in the passenger seat. Maybe the added weight will keep it from shimmying... nana.gif

I think you nailed it right there, 3ES99.   Does the rig make any roaring or grinding type noises at all?

With as easy as the front driveshaft comes off just remove it and take it for a drive. If it goes away you have found your problem. Also I had a stock Xj once that shook the wheels back and fourth voilently. I checked the steering stabiliser and found it was dead(all oil had drained out )> I replaced it with a napa one and it worked fine.

A properly setup steering system does not need a steering stabilizer. All a stabilizer does is help to eleviate excessive movement in the steering wheel while driving. It's job is not to prevent shimmy and/or shake. If by replacing a ss you eliminted any death woble your just covering up the true problem.

Chris make sure your keeper nuts on all your TRE's are tight. There are 2 nuts per TRE and they should NOT be tightened together. Tighten the first one (bar end) than tighten the 2nd one. Look at step 5 in your directions for more info.
