RE discos

I have had my RE discos on for about a year now and have been less than impressed. noMaybe I am doing something wroung but for some resaon the upper mount bolts keep comming lose. So after tightening them a half dozen times I decided to use thread lock. Now they just break the bolts.doh Should I upgrade to grade 8 or not, being the upper mount is aluminium and may destroy it insted?
My other thought is to off these ones and get a set of JKS ones. Also, they are the adj. ones. Is it normal for them to be bottomed out on a 4.5 lift?confuse

Maybe call RE and see if they have been having problems with them?  They might have the best suggestions for ya.

Put a lock nut on it. I've never had an issue with them after a locknut was put on it.

RE sells 2 different lengths of the Gen. 2 discos. Upto 3.5" and than 4.5" plus. Thus the reason yours are at the bottom.

Also, do you have them installed correctly? They should be on one side only. So the one side (drivers) bottom mount points IN towards the motor, while the pass side points OUT towards the tire. (Hope that makes sense).

Do you mean the lower mounts?  Because the pass one is the one I keep breaking. I do have both pointing inward. Is that in the directions?

I know not the best pic, but if you look close you can see what I'm talking about. Notice how both lower pins are pointing towards the pass side. This keeps the links themselves parallel to each other. My assumption is that one of them on yours is not straight up and down, thus binding and causing it to break.

My uncle lost one of his JKS disco's sometime on our way back from attica. I watched him reconnect them before we left. He said it was gone the next day when he started cleaning it.

I was wondering why the steering linkage keeps bending the pin also. Thanks Lead. Guess I caused my frustration with my discos.
