mine is living on borrowed time right now, sooooo i'm looking for a 21 spline (i believe.. please let me know if i'm wrong) 231 tcase.. preferrably cheap and in good working order lol

Being you have a '93 you most likely have a 23 spline...

Is there any way to tell how many splines are on the TC without physically counting the splines?

Yes.

Sometime in the mid 1990 year they changed from a 21 spline to a 23 spline input. If you have a 1990 (or even a 1991) the only way to tell is to yank the TC as the tags on them look identical.
