tstat housing leak...

not sure what to do...
snake oil (works sometimes)
remove, scrape off gasket stuff, put new make a gasket on
same as above but add new gasket and goop on each side of gasket.

in picture 4/6 it looks like the housing is cracked... being a little wet as I refilled coolant and let it idle until I noticed fresh dripping, then took a couple pics. Bottom bolt is tight, so if I removed it and put some pipe thread sealant (goop type, not tape) on the bolt and re-torqued it down, it might fix this? More experienced people's input is appreciated.

I've cracked my fair share of them...

Just make sure you don't over tighten the bolts, or your WILL crack them. They are cheap (aprox $20) and most automotive stores should stock them.

I do use loc-tite on the bolts and give the housing a good amount of rtv.

What adam said.  Sometimes it will leak through the bolts, so that could be your problem...

I'll pull it and check it out. If it's cracked (hopefully not, I got a pricey hesco unit) I'll take pics. I'll grind (so it's nice and rough) and apply some JB. I'm not into hackjobs, but I'm not rich, so I'll do what I can with what I have.

That kind of what Jeepin' is about, right?
