So a buddy of mine finally retired has old ZJ because (after many years on smashing the frame rail with rocks, trees, logs other non Jeeps ect)the doors simply would not open or close right. We already straighted it once at a frame shop and rewelded most the the (frame)panels back together again. The seond time, however the metal started ripping away at the welds and he just decided to move on to another ZJ and start over. Since I plan on wheeling hard on rocks ect I decided to install frame sliders. I made these out of scrap 3/8 mild steel I got from the scrap bin at work. The hardest part was cleaning up all the undercoat from May when I installed my rock sliders.  I painted and undercoated the heck out of it to so hopefully I won't have any rust issues. Then again I think it would take years to rust thru 3/8 plate. Here are some pictures.
