1. Does anyone here know is way to ajust the efan so it will turn on sooner. mine turn on around 230*. It would be nice to have it come on around 215*. If this is possible or is this really hard to and need to have special tools for this job. thanks any info will be appericate

Some guys install an electric fan in place of the mechanical fan, and wire it to a switch, or you can get an adjustable relay/wiring controller from your local speed shop. Local Auto Part Superchain might have it, but I haven't seen any.

Others wire the fan in so it's ignition-on.

hello before I add a switch to efan. I alsowant to turn the efan when I need to . By putting a switch in will this affect the computer in anyway I think it will confuse it. let me know what you think

To make the fan kick on sooner you'd have to change out the thermo switch. Unfortunately on the XJ's the thermo switch is controlled by the ECU so there is no "easy" way to do it.

You have a few options. You can wire your fan to be turned on by a switch, or even better just turn on when the ignition is on. Only downfall is in cold weather. So doing the switch may be the best bet. If you got creative with a relay you could wire it to turn on with ignition, hook up a switch and than be able to turn it off if/when you wanted.

Another option is using a SPAL fan controller. It runs you around $200 and will alow you to control what temp your fan will turn on. It has settings for a low and a hi, so for instance you could have it kick into low at 180* than kick in to high at 220* (or whatever temps you set it up). Takes a bit of wiring "know-how" but is a very good system and upgrade.

I Ok thanks for that info but my question is will a switch affect the ECU in anyway. also what kind of swtich do you think I should use. Please help. Thanks
