GLXJ is hosting it's 4th Annual Fall Crawl on Saturday October 10th at Redbird SRA in Dugger Indiana.
ALL JEEPS ARE WELCOME!!!
Admission to Redbrid is $10 per vehicle. You can visit the Redbird SRA website at http://www.redbirdsra.com for more info.
Flags are not required, but if you want to run one your more than welcome to. Also PLEASE have some sort of recovery (either front tow hooks, or rear hitch). Also please bring a tow strap (no hooks, looped both ends). Both are required to wheel with GLXJ. We have front tow hook kits and recovery kits available in the GLXJ store if you need to purchase them. They can be found by CLICKING HERE.
We are planning on meeting at the gate/staging area at 10:00 AM. If you plan on attending please let me know for sure so I can get a head count. I will also note that this is open to supporting members as well as non-supporting members. Additionally, ANY JEEP's ARE ALLOWED TO WHEEL WITH US (even if not a XJ or MJ).
This event is made possible by our sponsors. Be sure to check them out 1st if your looking for a new product or service. Hope to see you there!
In the event info it says "please bring a tow strap", is this mandatory? I don't currently own one. Also will a 2" drop receiver with a D-ring in it work for recovery. I have seen pics but not sure on the safety factor.

It would be nice if you had your own, but I am sure that others will have them so not THAT big of a deal as long as you have recovery points. The receiver with a d-ring in it is not ideal, but will work. I have done it before, but don't anymore because I got a proper one.

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
What size tow strap comes in the GLXJ recovery kit?
2" x 20'
And to answer questions prior;
Yes you should have your own strap. It's not the best etiquette to ask someone to pull you out and also ask them to get thier strap dirty. You should have your own strap if you get stuck. This is just good offroad etiquette.
Using a d-ring on a on a drop hitch is not recommended. I'm not going to say it's "not allowed" but the use of proper equipment makes it not only easier, but safer.
Not going to be able to make it to this. This is the day that we are coming back from Gettysburg.... Hope that you guys have a good time, sucks that I won't be able to be there.

I will be going out to RedBird this Saturday at 10am. No hard feelings if nobody else can make it. I know that the Jeep Jam in Fort Wayne is easier to get to for most of you guys and that is totally understandable.
I will be diving in by myself. I plan on just cruising some of the easier sections to avoid getting hung up or break something. But I am really looking forward to it! I feel that since its only 10 min from my house, why not! I will try to take as many pics as i can to give you guys an idea what the park is like so if there is ever a trip there in the future...
I am not going to be able to make it down there this weekend either
