The other day the Jeep acted funny. I started it nicely and reversed from the parking bay and stopped a few meters and killed off the engine. I came back after 10 minutes or so and jeep wont start. Infact it could not even crank. So I knew for sure it was not battery issue but at the time I had no idea what the problem was.

Tried all tricks but it wont accept to start. Then out of pure guesswork and after suffering for like 30 minutes I place the gear lever at N(eutral) and voila! the jeep starts. To start with I confess that I had no idea that i could start the vehicle from the Neutral position... I guess you learn something new every day.

I stopped moved the lever to P(ark) and the vehicle wont start! Back to Neutral and am in business. I did not have much time to look up the issue immediately so I was happy to use the jeep starting from Neutral for a few days. I eventually read the FSM and did a little internet research and there was my answer staring at me. Turns out that my problem is the Park/Neutral Start Switch otherwise more popularly known as NSS. And fortunately in my case I only needed to adjust the NSS switch which had slightly moved out of position I did not even need to remove it and service it as suggested. Will post the website with the write-up and photos that I saved in a different computer.

I thought I could share this just in case someone else suffers similar problem and be clueless like I was a few weeks ago.
