rear shackle bolts stuck

hey everyone i am swaping the stock shackles for ones that are a little longer and wanted to know if anyone has a trick for getting the upper bolts out mine are seized to the metal sleeve inside the rubber and the bolt will only come out to where the sleeve is seized on to the bolt   any advise   the only thing i can think of is to cut them with a sawsall    anyone got a better idea       thanks

I used a sawzall and got new grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. It took longer to get the bolts than it did to cut them off. Its also nice that now you can make them go from the outside in rather than the other way round and have to remove your hitch to remove the bolts.

Now that TJHAWK mentions it, I did the same with mine as well.  Or at least the ones on MysticfireXJ's XJ.  You should replace the bolts anyway so it doesn't affect anything to cut them off.

ok so i cut the bolts and got everything out and installed the new shackles with grade 8 bolts then when i got the weight back on the springs it looks like my rear leaf spring bushings are wore out and need replaced has anyone done this or am i going to have to replace the whole spring thanks

I have not personally had to replace bushings because everytime that I have taken them off I have replaced them totally.  But I know people that have.  Here is a link to MO bushings LINK

I know that it will ride better with new bushings.  I didn't see just a leaf spring bushing kit but if you ask them they might have one.  The closest one that I could see was this one LINK.  That is for both the shackle and the leafs....
