Cruise Speed Control install question

Trying to put cruise onto a 2001 XJ with a manual trans. Using all new parts, replaced clockspring, added switches, steering wheel harness, and the servo etc under the hood. So using the existing harness I don't even get a "cruise" light on the cluster.

The vacuum is fine, the connections are fine. However something is obviously not hooked up.

I did notice a wire/connector  underneath the column shroud. (this connector appears to be on manual  trans only) wires are white/pink and light blue/white.  The white pink is part of the brake light switch connection. ( brake light switch checks out good) So it appears this is where my problem is. connector wire is about 6 inches long but I can't figure out what it is supposed to go to.  Also can't find this connector in the FSM wiring diagrams. go figure.

Any body have any ideas or a Mopar speed control install PDF?

Welcome to the site.  I don't know the answer to your question, but here is a link to the Factory Service Manual PDF files for most years of XJ's.  2001 is on there, so just download that and take a look see.  I would think that it would be in there.

Hi, thanks for the scoop. It turns out the new on/off switch I was using did not work. I swapped it with a used one and it is all good. The connector I was wondering about seems to be in the harness for a XJ with a automatic.  for the shift lock solenoid.

The speed control section in the FSM  for a XJ is pretty weak. It does not have a troubleshoot section, other than a test drive. I wound up using a 97 neon FSM which has diagnosis and testing for the speed control system and switches.

I'm an idiot.  I never even linked the FSM...   Glad to see that you have it figured out.
