Fan Pulley Splitting Serp Belt

My fan pulley appears to be sticking out further than my other pulleys when I look at them from the top. I caused my serp belt to only ride halfway on the pulley and split in half.

Any idea on why this happened and how to fix it?

It is just the pulley?  The rest of the fan assembly is normal?

The belt only rides on the inner half the pulley. It looks like the pulley is further forward than it should be. There is no wobble to the fan when I spin it, so its not a worn our bearing

I decided I am just going to go pic up a used bracket and pulley somewhere and just swap the whole thing in. I have been googling and to autozone, but I can't figure out where to find a fan pulley anywhere.

I fixed it. The shaft that the pulley and the fan bolt to had shifted forward about 3/4 of an inch taking the pulley and fan with it. I found a junkyard bracket with the shaft in the right spot.

The first pic shows the pulley I was talking about.

The second pic shows the difference in the in the fan shaft of my jeep(finger showing the newly exposed metal) and the one on the JY find.

The third pic shows the pulleys all in line once again.

Took about 4 hours of diagnosing, tearing apart, finding part, and putting back together again. Now the belt is riding in the correct location on all the pulleys.

It is a good thing that you found it that might have left you stranded somewhere.
