What kind of CB are you guys using?

Is one brand better than another?

Where are you mounting them?

I am thinking about adding one. Any general info would be great.

I have always used Cobra's and have been happy with them. I currently have a 40 channel with 3 weather bands on it aswell. When it comes to a CB, go with something quality all the way around. Good antenna and good wire is just as important as the unit itself. You can pick up a good used Cobra on eBay for $40-50.

Here is a pic where I have mine mounted. I realize I have the "old style" interior, but you get the idea. It's in there somwhere with all the goodies, just look.

Dude, that looks like an airplane cockpit! Keeping with your roots, huh?

I was thinking Cobra, also. I will probably search around for one. I have seen people mount them bewteen the visors. I may go that route.

What are you running for an antenna? How tall?

I only have about 2" between my visors, so unfortantly that wasn't a route I could take.

I'm going on my 3rd antenna. I orignally had a 3ft. Firestick. Lasted quite awhile, but I didn't have it on a spring and eventually it fell victim of a trail. Last one I tried was a 4ft firestick, sits up just a bit to high, and I also didn't have it on a spring and it fell victim of the trail. This last one I had (another 4ft firestick), I had it on a spring, but the spring wasn't strong enough, so I actually bent the spring. Took off the spring and was running it without. Well last week in Indy it fell victom again. Luckly it wasn't the antenna itself this time, just the mount. I really need to get a 3ft again and get a new spring so I won't keep breaking them.

I have my mount on the side. I "had" a factory tire carrier, but is no more. So I had 2 holes already drilled in the side. Figured I'd just mount it there and cover them up. Here is a pic of my 4ft mounted.

Hey Marc

Got my Cobra at Walmart in Mishawaka looks like same model as Adams has the weather band, think it was 40 or 45 bucks. I had mine mounted between the visors didnt like it ,moved it to the passenger side of the console. My antennae is a 4ft Wilson mounted on a spring. Works well. Like Adam said get good stuff especially the coax, i didnt and i need to change mine this spring. Crazy D's truck stop has a bunch of CB stuff and not all that bad priced.

And about 1/4 down the page. Love the little cobra there in the middle. When the wheeling gets rough, occasionally the mic will slip off the cb, but no biggie. I run my antenna magnet mounted on the roof on the street, for the trail, I lay it down and zip tie and still get and give good signal.

I have a Corba 19 LTD II. ITs a lil CB with a PA option and External speaker.  I have the PA under the hood just for fun to yell at people.  Since mine is so small I put my CB in that lil spot where the center consol is right before the passenger seat.  Its where the the consol narrows and it fit right in there I can get some pics if anyone wants to see.  And did anyone buy their Whip mount? and if you did where you get it and mount it?
