Okay, I installed my Hidden Hitch about two weeks ago and it is already rusting! What the heck is up with that? Can't they put some type of finish on it that will last more than a few weeks?
Should I clean it up and put some paint on it, or just let it go? Man, this is irritating!

Rust means exposed metal. If you don't want rust than you need to cover the bare metal with something (ie. paint). Personaly I'd yank it off and shoot it with a few coats of black rustoliem (sp?). I'd rather spend the $6 for a can of it than have rust.
It sure looks like it is painted up nice. I guess it must be really thin?? The rust is very much on the surface and it can be cleaned up easily. It just burns me that they can't do a better job than that!

Mines on its second winter and starting to rust, i think when i do my rockrails,I'm gonna spray them and both my front and rear hitches with spray Duplicolor bedliner.

I guess it just depends how anal you are. If your anything like me, than I'd pull it off, sand it down a bit and give it a few shots of rustoliem. Is it bubling under the paint or what?
It's not really bubbling, it just looks like when you have bare steel sitting around for a while. It gets kind of a rusty skim on it. It is in a localized area so I will probably just spot treat it with it still on the Jeep.
