Diamond plate is a LOVE it or HATE it item......I tend to like it when done properly, please keep in mind your still viewing an unfinished, just an idea in my head, alteration kinda thang.........
I use diamond plate alot because it shows up well in pictures, 1/8" d. plate measures 3/16" thick at the high point of the diamond so it adds alittle beef, its slippery against obsticals, when dented, the dent hardly shows and when properly finished it looks like its something thats ment to be there in most cases.....trust me its a bit harder to work with when forming, welding and esp. finishing.......
Dont forget I'll be needing to fab up a front winch bumper around a BackBone yet so voids you see now may go away in the near future, this needs to get back on the road though, I need to get back to filling orders, luckilly the phone has been a little slow!!
I wanted to finish paint Saturday.....but we now have a BLIZZARD WARNING up for Sunday due to a Noreaster forming......thats just great.....fresh finished paint and salt......its hardly snowed all winter, I figured I was safe........Maybe had I simply washed it, we would only be getting rain instead of the predicted 14" of snow!! Hope their WRONG!!
Its a far question....my answer would be 'Y not'....if Im not learning something constantly then I get pretty bored..........28 people all wearing a blue suit, I'd be that guy over there in a red t-shirt......why be normal? My background includes building a few rods & customs so cutting a little metal is kinda normal to me......plus its good for business.
You most likely would'nt like Lil'Red, its patiently waiting for it's lift.
It was for sale on NAXJA & Ebay....it came close to the right number on ebay, but not close enough, thinking Im keeping it now.....but who knows...
Yes, has rear wall but instead of glass, I went with a YJ soft rear window, it snaps and catch's like the real deal, pretty water tight....rear floor plugs pulled for easy rinsing, area for Co2 tank & the battery sits out back as well now.
