I plan on using my stock rims for now. Just in case I have to spend the money on a SYE. I have been looking at 31" tires, but if the rear stays close to where it is, I might just have to look into some 32"ers. Anyone here have any experience with how much the rear might settle?
More than likely I will also have to put in a coil spacer to level the Jeep up. I'm hoping that by raising the front up it might help with the slight vibration I'm getting.
Let me just start by saying I used to be a huge advocate of the TrXus.....always ran 33's...but my statement of the 5k I guess needs to be clarified.....trail performance greatly fell off at the 5k mark, wear was very evident......sure there was tread left, but it was only good on pavement...it would clog on the trail with tire presures of 8-9 lbs. Another thing to consider is the XJ's they were on, did double duty chaising parts and picking up lasar work....so they had some heavy payloads at times.....but not often. I actually started getting a hard time wheeling cuzz I was always showing up with new rubber.....
Soooo....I switched to Maxxis....they truely out perform the TrXus hands down, they're wearing very well, thier not too loud, crazy in mud & on the rock and 33" Bighorns only set me back $122.00 each...I'll be stepping into Trepadors next.
Do the Maxxis google search, get on thier site....Click 'Products'....Click 'Automotive'.....Click 'View all products'.....scroll down till you see the Bighorns....click on the tire, pick your size and it'll provide all the stats......they start at 31".
