I have discovered the one and only meaning of PITA. Dropping the rear axle down in a Jeep Cherokee 8 times. At least 8 times, I've really lost count. Three times today alone.
I THINK I have the driveline angles straightened out. ( HA... I made a funny!) As follows:
Two .075 shims between the frame, and the crossmember. That's 2 at each bolt. That's on top of the 1" drop crossmember. A 2* shim under the leaf springs WITH a .075 shim. Haven't figured out what that measures yet. Close to 3/16" would be a good guess. Pointing the pinion upwards. No vib's at 30-55 mph. Haven't had it out on the Interstate yet. But it cured the vib's I had around 30-45 mph.
The rear u-joint is almost perfectly straight, and the front one at the TC is angled down somewhat.
While I won't complain about the amount of lift I got, 4.5", this is why I really only wanted a 3" lift. Now I'm waiting on the 1" spacers for the front.....
i don't belive i've seen lifted pictures yet??? got any??
Here you go. Not very good one though. My new tires and wheels might be on later this week. Soft 8's, and 31" Trxus.
I took it out on the highway today. Vib's are nil, I DO NEED to get it aligned bad though. She's a little "light" on her feet, seem's "darty" at 60 mph+. Castor's off I would assume. I'll wait to do that after I get the 1" spacer installed in the front.
