I'll go, BUT on one condition.  There has to be a car wash SOMEWHERE close by.

There's no car wash, but Haspin MIGHT (someone might wanna ask if they call) have their hose back on by then.

I'd put me at a 50/50 chance of going.

I'll see if I can come.
I have to get my tranny back in my XJ still though (wanna help?).

If I was coming I could lead a group of milder rigs around and assist with some "trail-education".
I've been there a lot & know where most stuff is located & what holes NOT to drive through.

I wish I could help but I will be in Wisconson this weekend and then 13,14,15 I will be in Salt lake City for nationals.  And the other weekends I am working up here. Maybe that friday before we go I could come out and help but that would be very last minute.

You try Brian?

Howdy All,

I'm new to the forum, and considering becoming a member.
I would like to come down for your trip to Haspin. I would like to see the capabilities of my XJ while having some people around who already know what I should or shouldn't be able to do. This is my way to work every day, and I really don't want to do any damage.
1. Would I be welcome?
2. Will an open Diff, XJ slow every one down?
3. What should I check or do to my Jeep B/4 driving down?

Hope to meet you all there.

First off, WELCOME!

Head over to the "off topic" forum and introduce yourself to everyone. Let us know where you are from. Also, post some pics of your Jeep in the Member's Rides section if you have any.

Of course you are welcome to join us at Haspin. A lot of us have open diffs. Don't worry about it. There are lots of people on here with a lot of wheeling experience. Also, Haspin has a lot of bypasses if things look to difficult for you or your Jeep.

We also have a chat (see top of page to log in). We are normally on there most nights around 9:30 til ??? Join us!

in other news i feel its nessary to poke fun at andy since he neglected to come to chat last night. andy come on!!! NFL draft???? bad excuse!!!! jeeps >> football . dont get me wrong i love football too but its not even a game!!! besides its your job as an officer!!! didn't you read the small print on the contract??? "being officer means you have to go to all wheeling events. violators will be subject to countless hours of ridicule and harassment!!!" (to the best of your knowledge you didn't sign this but the rest of know what really went down!!!) we gonna have great food!! if i still have doors then you can listen to the draft in my jeep or i can bring a portable tv that plugs into the cigarette lighter(so we can watch the fuzz on there and nothign else...). ok i guess i did my part. everyone elses turn!!

The only requirement to attend the Haspin ride should be AT LEAST 1 SOLID RECOVERY POINT. Front or rear. If you don't have one, don't wheel your jeep, cause it's gonna get stuck sooner or later, and noone wants to attempt dangerous recoveries.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Recovery...
I have a Customized JCR stage III front bumper with two Clevis mounts up front, and a "Hidden Hitch" in the rear. I've not used them for extraction yet, but I have pulled logs with both front and rear.
My Brother-in-law gave me a new High-Lift for Christmas (God, I like him), but it hasn't gotten dirty yet.

Jeff,
I live about half an hour north of Elkhart between Vandalia and Jones. Do we ave any place to lay closer than southern Indiana?

Yeah, one thing we are not known for around here is our spelling. We have learned to decipher most words and meanings.

Anyway... There are a lot more places down south than up here. I hear there are a lot of good parks up in Michigan. I haven't been to any though.

If you want to go to Haspin, we can probably caravan. You can go first and I will draft you.

Sound Good, I'm afraid I won't give much draft though, I don't even have a rack yet.
I don't know If I have PM capability since I just started here, but I would have to find out where and when to meet up with you guys.
I just got Momma's permission to go play with the boy's that weekend as long as I don't break her inheritance. (she thinks she will get the XJ when I'm dead, but I'm gonna be buried in it)
