Well, I am resurrecting this thread as I have several things that I am wanting to do to my XJ very soon and since I can't go out in the cold and DO them right now, I might as well talk about them.
Besides, I know that you all have plans for getting your rig ready for the spring and summer wheeling season, so... let's share!
Here is my list:
New rear axle (either D44 or rebuilt and upgraded Chrysler 8.25) with appropriate Rockcrusher diff cover
Probaby regear at same time of axle change
Rear disk brake conversion
New front brakes
Rock Rails
New rear bumper (Tire carrier or not??? That is the question.)
There are a few other misc. things that I can't remember off the top of my head, but there you have it...
Like every spring Repaint front & rear bumper's, Slider's New bolts on roof rack, one side keep's loosening maybe some fab work, i have some idea's that have been cooking all winter
1. Get new shoes for the xj 2. Reversing Camera 3. Front/underneath Camera - Wanna watch the wheels hitting a few things on the road and avoid driving over sharp objects and living creatures including homo sapiens..... 4. Roof rack/wheel mount 5. Fix cracked windscreen 6. Install 8" screen dvd player 7. install 7" Driving Mirror/LCD screen which also works with reversing and front camera - (This coming weeeknd) 8. Install OEM Abs system - (long term project) 9. a few other miscellaneous installations......
Well just got the new RK trac bar on, so now getting rid of the front bumper, as to say I need top get my new winch bumper, sooner the better I guess. Figure if my bumper is gone then be easyier to convince the old lady i need to get a new bumper cause I can't be riding around with out one
Well after the mud pie we drove in down at Haspin a couple of weekends ago I've decided it's time for a winch. I've went with the Backbone System from Detours. I talked to Mark there and he will be making some small mod's to it so I can use it with my WP bumper. I needed the d-ring attachment points to be lengthened slightly and it was no problem on Mark's end. I will fab up some mounts to attach the bumper to the Backbone. I should have it next week sometime.
Now I have to save up some cash for the winch. I was impressed with the SmittyBilt XRC8 that pulled about everyone out that day. I think I'm going to go with it. Price is nice, and I won't be using it all THAT much I hope.

It is all dried out from Haspin. Now I just need to get the MPG's above 5. Have to go and get the codes read and see which sensors to replace. I also have to clean out the exhaust and CAT. Everytime I start it, it shoots black dust onto the floor....
