Measuring lift?

Is there some place to measure how much I lift you have added to your XJ? Like from the top of the axle to some place? On paper I should have like 5.5" but I'd like to measure and see where I stand as of now.

Thanks for the nice forum guys. I joined today for the forum and the club if thats what you are calling it. I have no problems throwing a few bucks your way to keep a club going. Looking forward to meeting up with some of you sometime to do some wheeling.

Just got a PM from the man on measuring lift.

There are a couple ways to measure lift. The standard way is to measure from the center of the hubs to the bottom of the flares. Stock is 17.5" front and 17.0" rear if I remember right. Of course that only works if you still have the stock flares and they haven't been moved. If you need another place to measure, I came up with a measurement on mine that I believe is accurate. It would be nice if another (non-sagging) stocker could measure to get a confirmation, but here it is... Measure from the bottom of your oilpan straight down to the top of the axle tube. Mine was 11" which I figured to be 6.5" lift. You can use that to figure yours if you like.

Hope that helps,
Eric
