Well I got some more done on it today. I painted the rear quarter panels now that they have been cut and folded. You can't really tell that anything was done now unless you new what they looked like before, which is a good thing i guess.
I also spent some more time with the lights on the roof rack. I have replaced all the wire on the rack. I am going to wire the lights to a trailer harness so that when the new tires get put on you can disconnect the rack and lights from the XJ with out much work so that it can be pulled into the garage. With the new tires and rims there is no way that it will fit in a normal garage...
Depending on how much sleep I get tomorrow I hope to get this done tomorrow.

hmmm, i like that idea of the trailer plug for the rack lights... i may have to do that on mine. yeah with the rack on mine right now, i clear the bottom edge of my garage door LITERALLY by about 1/2". if i tap the accelerator too much after the front wheels are in, i can hear the rubber strip on the door graze the rack. LOL! it was a little unnerving at first! and with what Mysticks is going to be when it's done, I KNOW it WON'T fit most every garage. but it'll be sweet, so it's all good!
ANYWAY.....looks like things are going pretty well on this! keep up the good work!

I love the taste of good beer. I don't drink often, but love good beer. The best beers are from micro breweries. Or Pilzner Urquil (sp?) for a good light beer. Nothing like the tase of a good dark beer though.

good beer is great stuff... not to 'just drink' (it's a waste to get drunk, plus I've done some silly things that belong in a different thread) but with some good food (ribs, or steak, etc.) it's great. I haven't cooked with beer but supposedly lots of stuff turns out really good.
Any new developments with the build? Where's the 'stang rims going? (I'm not interested in them, just curious if they're in the parts bin or sold or what)

A little update on things. Got an email from Nick the other day. He will be home around Dec. 1. He has got all his stuff packed and is just on standby to come home.
The XJ is coming along. I have got the offroad lights almost completely wired up. I have to finish with the power to both switches and put the dash in and it is done. Still need to drill out the bolt for the rear shock, put in nutsert for the TC drop bracket. I sanded, primed and painted the rear fenders where they were cut and folded. That turned out really well. The rear cargo mat came in from Motion Offroad, the front mats though are still on back order.
Like Motion Offroad stated the 33x12.5 Bighorns are here. The rims were not ordered yet because they can only find 3 of them for some reason. So might have to pick out new ones if they can't find a 4th one.
Will be puting new trac bar and and 1-ton crossover steering from Motion Offroad on Monday. Will be getting it alligned at the same time too. Was hoping to get the rims on at the same time but doesn't look like that will be the case.
The wheels that are on it, Nick said that he will be puting on his '79 Scout. I don't know what is going to happen with the Stang Rims.

Ya, I know. There is a place in Ft. Wayne that is helping up out with that.
If anyone lives in the Ft. Wayne area Patriot Auto behind the mall is a great place to get your car worked on. I know most of the guys that work there, they won't do you wrong.
