Considering Welding D35 Spiders
(Preview)
I am seriously considering a rear axle upgrade to an 8.8 with 4.10s, and a non disconnect D30 also with 4.10s. Currently I have a disconnect D30 w/ 3.07 and a D35 with the same. I will be doing this swap hopefully in the next year or so. So, I want to get full use out of what I have. So the question is, how long w...

So I finally got around to doing the rear disc conversion on my 93 XJ. I got a set of rotors and calipers/caliper brackets from a dana 35 from a 1998 ZJ. I got them at my local pull your parts and I think I paid $60 bucks for the whole shabang. I spotted a clean CFC 2002 but the bolt pattern looked much bigger th...

pinion shaft bearings help?

how difficult and time consuming is this? i know there's a lot of precise work to be donr in getting everything set up right once you pull it all out, but is it worth ripping everything apart or would it be cheaper/easier to just replace the axle itself? the reason i'm asking is i found that the pinion shaf...

So the fiancee (soon to be wife as of Saturday!) hates driving my Jeep because of how it handles and steers, saying it's sloppy and leans all over. We decided it's a lot easier for her to drive my Jeep to her work around the corner and I take her little jellybean car up to my work 30 miles from her house (wher...

Trailering with a lift.

So I used to tow my 3,000 Sea Ray boat with my XJ when we went camping/boating/away for a trip ect. Since I have lifted it I now use my truck more for towing. It does stink though if I want to go somewhere that there is camping, a lake and wheeling trails I need to drive two vehicles because I am kind of afraid of...

Flex fuel XJ?

Anyone know of an XJ that has been converted to take E85? My crown Vic for work is a flexfuel car. Yesterday I filled it up with E85 at $2.00 per gallon. Regular gas is $2.80-89 I don't remember. I did the math there at the gas station and I would have saved almost just over $10 on that fill up alone.... I...
