Welding spiders
(Preview)
What do you all think of welding the spider gears in the rear? Since my xj is just a trail rig and don't really want to drop a whole lot into it was thinking of doing this. Just something cheap that will work for what my rig is made for. Tell me what you all think of this idea. Thanks, Ben

Looking to get some Rock Sliders. The thing is that they need to have a step on them. The reason is that Jeanette has trouble getting into the new XJ because of how tall it is. I can't find any that really have a step on them that is really capable of being used as a step. Didn't know if anyone on here would...

Additional Leaf Springs

I got 6 inch coil spring lift at the front. However i did not get the full suspension lift kit. I guess the easiest option would be to place spacers at the rear suspension. Been wondering.... What would be the effect of installing additional leafs to the rear leaf springs to get rear height equal to the f...

Stripped block: Need help in Indy

Well, while torqueing my oil pan bolts, I stripped the bolt where it bolts in to. I've never tapped a new thread before, so I'm really hesitant (and PISSED) about doing this. Anyone have experience and willing to help me out here in Indy (preferrably before Haspin)? Also, I think part of the culprit m...

NEWS FLASH-Dana 30 axle is good for about 30,000 miles

Yep, that's what the Jeep Dealer said.... so it MUST be true. His statement was "30,000 miles is really good for a Dana 30 in a Jeep". What a load of crap! I replied " there are hundreds of thousands of vehicles on the road with the Dana 30 axle with hundreds of thousands of miles on the...

Are lockers friendly to D/D ?
(Preview)
Hello all, I was concerned with running lockers on a rig that will see more DD than trail use. How friendly are lockers to run on the street ? I think this will determine the level of parts I put on mine and prompt me to buy a trail only project. I thought I had learned my lesson with the Bimmers,[youtube=...

Hi all, do we have a dealer connection in the group ? I was sort of spoiled by the HoosierBMW club contacts with the dealer for pricing, promotions, and hospitality sort of stuff. Chrysler admitting there is a problem with the Dana 30 axle???

Well finally I know what is wrong with my Jeep. The noise and vibration I've been having in 4WD is the front differential. At least that is what the dealer is telling me. The front diff was rebuilt right after I bought it 2.5 years and 30,000 miles ago. At that time the bearings were total junk, why they cou...
