Enough is enough...goodbye TrXus!
(Preview)
I'd experienced sliding on wet pavement with these tires at first when they were slightly overinflated. Now that they're about 1/2 worn out they are totally unpredictable. The siping is about all gone, and I did a 4 wheel drift in the Jeep the other day on wet pavement. Later it almost swapped ends...

Problem with my Cherokee...
(Preview)
My Jeep (1989 Cherokee 4X4 4.0L I6, 5-Spd Manual) will start up after 5 seconds of cranking or so. It idles fine and just barely any pressure on the throttle and it runs fine, but once you start opening up the throttle on it, it starts shuttering and bucking and an occasional backfire. Putting the thrott...

Latest addition to my XJ is a hydraulic hood lift kit. I joined a group buy on JeepForum. The kit is made by Redline Tuning. The kit works great, and easy to install. I always hated having to mess with the prop rod all the time. My understanding is the group buy is still going on for another week. Here...

fluctuating temp gauge
(Preview)
So, my 96 XJ almost has 200k original miles on it, and I noticed that once it warms up the temp gauge goes from ~220 and drops to ~180 and slowly rises to 220, then fairly quickly drops again. This happens in town, at 45mph, 55mph, and 60mph. I'm thinking a coolant flush and new t-stat is in order. Any othe...

I finally figured out why my XJ runs like complete SH1T. The No.1 cylider exhaust valve lifter is collapsed/broken. That vavle never opens. I have tried a can of seafoam in the oil as well as ATF and neither helped. So I guess I'm to the point of pulling the head and replacing the lifter(s). Any suggest...
